>Well, the winners were announced for the Silhouette Romantic Suspense contest…and I was not one of them! Oh well…so I went at it the hard way. I sent a letter, synopsis and the first three chapters to Intrigue on Tuesday–the old fashioned way. “The slush pile!” The good news, though, is I can mention in my cover letter that I am published, and maybe that will help… The more I thought about it, the more it seemed to fit Intrigue better than SRS, so that’s where I sent it. We’ll have to wait and see how it goes over.
Been working on a story I’m calling A Dish Served Cold. The basic story is: “Woman seeks to find what really killed her sister becoming a target for the murderer.” So far, it’s coming along well. I’m a little over 10k into it now. I had originally planned to write it for entry into Brava’s Novella Contest–it’s supposed to come in around 35k. Of course, it’s already 10k and I’ve barely gotten started on it, so I’m not sure it’s going to be the right length or not.
Oh, and CS is having another BIAW; this one is 25k in 7 days starting the last Sunday in March. That’s a chunk, actually, but I’m going to try to pull it off. Which means I really need to finish Dish before the 25th so I’ll have time to do it. March was pretty much a free month for me anyway, since Tessa was out, Hawkes was out, Lottery is done in the first draft, and Dangerous has made it though the second draft. I had the time to fool around with this Brava thing anyway, and if I get that done, I’ll do the BIAW. If not, I might just try to write another 25k on Dish during the BIAW…wonder if that counts! LOL
Got up late today…been getting up at 4. This morning I had the headache from hell and could not make myself get up. When the weather starts changing and the time changed, too, I think my system got messed up somehow. I missed work on Monday because I felt so crappy, and if I didn’t have so much damn work to do at the sign shop, I’d go back to bed today. Responsibilities…that’s what my hero’s problems are in Dish, and it’s what mine are today… ha!
