>Top 20 Most Romantic Cities in America

>Amazon.com Announced the Top 20 Most Romantic Cities in America, and yes, you guessed it, Virginia is for lovers (like our state motto says)! Our of 20 cities, 3 are in Virginia.

The funny thing is the criteria they used to come up with this “award”. They took the total number of romance, sex and relationship books sold in an area then divided by the population. (That’s a rough explanation, but basically accurate.)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t that mean Virginia is a state that reads about love? I’m not positive, and hey, I’m a big reader, so I did my part to contribute, but does reading about romance really make us the most romantic?

It reminds me of when I got pregnant with my first child–I didn’t know a single thing about motherhood, so being who I am, I went to the bookstore and got a few books on the subject. My grandmother (who had 11 kids on her own without reading one darn book) said “Motherhood isn’t the kind of thing you read about, Deb! Sheesh! You just do it.” Oh, and my mother-in-law, who as we all know thinks I’m nuts anyway–said, “You really don’t know what you’re doing, do you?”

I beg to differ, however…I read those books, and now I am a mother. You tell me it didn’t work. LOL

Maybe the cities in Virginia actually should have won the award: “Most Romantically Educated Cities in America.” Doesn’t really mean we know what we’re doing…but then again, it might. <grin>
